---------TECHNIQUE #1 - Prepare a place to revise---------
It's really useful to prepare a place where you can really *concentrate* and *focus* as you revise. Begin by thinking of the different places you could revise in. For example, it could be your house, your school or local library or even somewhere else you feel comfortable. It's useful to choose a place where you can revise regularly. The following qualities are useful in helping you get the most out of your revision:
- A place that has a nice vibe and pleasant atmosphere, where you instinctively feel good
- A place that is quiet and free of potential distractions
- A place where you feel comfortable, where you have a nice chair and desk or table where you can organise your study materials. If this is a more public area (like a library)choose the place where you feel most comfortable.Once you have chosen this place, it's useful to prepare it to help you revise:
- Remove any objects that could distract you (like taking your TV out of your bedroom). Adjust this space so you can focus on what you are revising, while you are revising.
- Make sure the area is clean and tidy, and youhave fresh air (clean it up and open the windowsif you need to)The purpose in doing this is to prepare a place where you are able to fully concentrate on what you are revising without distraction. This will help you to revise better.

-----------------------TECHNIQUE #2 - Optimise Your State Of Mind-------------
You've already discovered *how* to become calm, confident and curious whenever you want. The best learners are really *brilliant* at going into powerful states of mind in which they can learn really well. A great way to access powerful states of mind for learning is to ask really good questions. As you answer the following questions for yourself, make sure you really *feel* the answer in your body. When you *feel* the answer strongly, squeeze your thumb and finger together to make your calm, confident curious state even more powerful.Answer these questions for yourself now:
1) How would you feel if you knew you couldn't fail? (Really feel the confidence...)
2) How would you feel if you *knew* you were already a super genius who was supremely intelligent and discovering it now?
3) Who are you, when you learn naturally, quickly and easily?
4) Who are the best people in the subjectyou are learning? (they could be your teachers, your professors, experts and authors ofbooks you are reading) How confident wouldyou feel if you were them? How would it feel to already be brilliant at the subject and enjoy learning it more? 5) How would you feel if you were three times more fascinated and interested in this subject?
6) If you had JEDI learning skills, how would confident and concentrated would you be?As you answer these questions, you reinforce your state of calm, confident curiosity and you train your brain to make it easier for you to learn.Make yourself really believe that you are a good learner, and you'll discover you are a better learner than before! It's a good idea to do this for a few minuteseach time you sit down to learn. You'll reallynotice the difference in your concentration and confidence as you study.

--------------------TECHNIQUE #3 - Set Your Revision Intention-----------
When you revise, it's really good to have a clear intention about what you are going to achieve in every revision session. For example, you can decide that in an hours time, you are going to have read 30 pages of a book, or learnt 3 diagrams.Clearly understand what you want to achieve, then *decide* with confidence that you willachieve your goal. Do this each time you sit down to study...soon you'll discover yourself doing this automatically.

--------------TECHNIQUE #4 - Speed Up Your Brain--------
-Here is a great technique to speed up your brain:
If you have study notes or a book, or a lot of information you need to revise, begin by scanning your eyes over each page really quickly (much more quickly than you usually read).Scan your eyes down each page, looking at each page for 1 - 2 seconds, then scan the next page until you've looked through all the pages of information. You'll notice as you do this that you can sometimes notice words, but you don't have time to read all the details, although you might be aware of taking in information.Do this until you've scanned through every page in your notes or book. For example,if the book has 200 pages, this should take only a few minutes. Then, once you've done this, go back and start reading your notes as you normally would. You'll discover you are reading more quickly than before *and* your mind seems to be working more quickly than usual. Many people discover that after they have done this, when they read the information normally(after they have scanned it quickly) their understand improves more quickly. (This technique is especially useful for reviewing large amounts of information)

---------------------TECHNIQUE #5 Concentration Timing--------------------
Television producers know that most people concentrate best for short bursts at a time. That's why most television programs are half anhour long.A great technique to help you revise moreeffectively and sustain your focus while you study is to concentrate for short bursts, and take a short break:
Revise for 25 minutes. Take a 5 minute break.
Revise for 25 minutes. Take a 5 minute break.
Revise for 25 minutes. Take a 15 minute break.
Repeat.Remember - everyone is different
- some people can concentrate well for 45 minutes, others for25. I recommend you experiment with the above and find a kind of timing that works really well for you! Many people discover that when they give themselves short breaks after concentration for a while, all of their time studying is more effective
----------------TECHNIQUE #6 - Read, Recall & Practice, Review----------------
-Remember, revising is about preparing yourselfto succeed in your exams. It's a great sequence to:
1) Read through your study materials, refreshing your memory and enhancing your understanding
2) Put your study materials out of sight, then attempt a practice question. You could actually answer a practice question, or answer it in note form, or even in your mind. The purpose is to practice recalling what you've studied to answer the question from memory.Sometimes it may take a while to get the hang of this - but once you've mastered this, your confidence will increase and your exams will become easier.
3) Review your answers against your study materials. These could be your notes / textbook or even the "perfect answers" you've gathered. As you review your answers, instead of paying attention to what you got wrong, congratulate yourself in what you got right and be explore how you can improve, so you get even better answers the next time. You'll discover as you do this, you'll learn more quickly faster!
