EXAM PREPARATION
--------------------------------------------------
You can prepare yourself for your exam by:
- Doing your revision well, practice doing really good answers, knowing exactly what you need to do to get good results and be ready to show the best of what you know.
In the 24 hours before the exam, make sure youtreat yourself really well:
- Get enough sleep
- Eat healthy foods
- Do some exercise

Plan to have everything ready the day before so you can completely focus on giving awesome answers in your exam. It's smart to know exactly *when* your exam is and *where* it is on and double check the details.By preparing well, you are preparing yourselffor more success.

JUST BEFORE THE EXAM
--------------------------------------------------
On the day of the exam, wake up, eat a light breakfast and review your notes.Aim to get to your exam a little early, with everything you need. Once you are there, re-access your state of calm, confident curiosity and remind yourself of times in your life when you did things really well. Many people find it useful to really focus at this point, and enter their personal zone or flow state in which they perform at their best.So really *concentrate* your mind. It's often helpful *not* to talk to other people doing the exam just before. At the very least, avoid people who are anxious and stressed, andonly talk to the people around you who help reinforce your confidence.

It's useful at this point to remind yourself not to take exams too seriously, and while they are important, in the grander scheme of things they are a relatively small part of life.By adopting this state of mind, and becoming calmly focused and free of worry, you'll be ableto give better answers.

WRITTEN EXAMS - IN THE EXAM
--------------------------------------------------
As you walk into the exam, walk confidently.Start by sitting comfortably and organise your stationary. Take as much time as you need. It's time for you to demonstrate your knowledge and skill. When you sit down, feel your growing inner confidence. Think thoughts to yourself like"It's time to show off my knowledge".

EXAM SUCCESS TECHNIQUE
--------------------------------------------------
Here is an excellent technique you can useat the beginning of your exam, just after you've sat down:
1) Begin by squeezing your thumb and finger together to powerfully re-access your calm, confident curiosity. (You'll notice how, as you practice this more, you get better)
2) Start by reading through all the exam questions and as you read through each question, squeeze your thumb and finger together, triggering your state of calm confidence and connecting this with the way you think about answering your questions.
3) Once you've read through the whole exam paper, and made yourself aware of the questions, close your eyes for a few moments and breathe calmly and deeply. Tell yourself in your mind that as you count from 5 down to 1, your unconscious is going to prepare you to answer the questions excellently using the best of everything you know. Then count from 5 down to 1, really believingthis is going to work, breathing calmly and slowly as you do. When you reach 1, open your eyes and feel the confidence. You might even begin to notice really good ideas on how to answer questions popping into your mind.
4) Next (before you start writing) glance through the paper once more and briefly think through how to answer the different questions in your mind, without writing them down. (By approaching your exam this way, your mind can prepare you to answer the question excellently, so by the time you actually write the answer down, your mind will have already thought about how to do it well)
5) Notice how many marks each question is worth and plan to answer every question you are supposed to, spending more timeon the questions that are worth the most.Use your clock or stopwatch to help you with this. Make sure it's right.
6) Then, work through your questions, answering each question really well. As you read through each question, ask yourself:"How can I give a really excellent answer to this question?"What do I have to do to get top marks in this question?"
7) Aim to complete the entire exam with some time left over - so you can review your answers and make them even better.
